Application Cycle for 2018-2019

The application cycle for the 2018-2019 fellowships of the Global Health will open in September 2017.

For reference, below are the step-by-step instructions for applying. The application requirements include the submission of a research proposal (in the online RedCap form).

Step 1: Determine if you are eligible for the GHES fellowship

To get started, read the eligibility criteria.

**If you are a postdoc at an institution outside of the consortium, please contact the program manager Maria Teresa Hernandez at maria.hernandez@berkeley.edu before applying.**

Any outside candidate applying without approval will not be considered. When contacting the program manager please send the following:
- After reviewing the GHES research sites, please indicate the area of research focus and site(s) where you would like to work
- Your NIH Biosketch or resume
- Names of any GHES mentors you have contacted to secure support for your application

Step 2: Read the detailed application guidelines

Download and read the GHES 2017-2018 application guidelines. It contains detailed information on all aspects of the Global Health Equity Scholars Program. You may need to download Adobe Reader to view PDF documents.

Step 3: Read the description of the training sites

Research areas and mentors are presented for each site here.

Step 4: Contact site mentor(s)

You will need to contact the site mentors to work on a research plan/project before applying. You need the support of a GHES-affiliated mentor to be eligible. For U.S.-based applicants, we advise to first contact the U.S. site PIs who can then facilitate contact with the affiliated LMIC (Low-Middle Income Country) PI.

Step 5: Fill out the online application form and  upload all the requested documents.

A PDF version of the application form is available here.
If you have any questions regarding the application process and materials or are concerned about your application status, please contact Yolanda Thomas at ghes@rambiss.com

All proposals must be written in English.
