Dr. Jerome Chin is currently an adjunct professor for the department of Neurology at New York University. He was a board-certified neurologist and lecturer in global health at the School of Public Health, University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Chin was a visiting neurology faculty member at the Makerere University College of Health Sciences, School of Medicine in Kampala, Uganda. To address the massive awareness and treatment gap for high blood pressure in sub-Saharan Africa, Dr. Chin founded the Alliance for Stroke Awareness and Prevention Project (ASAPP) in 2011. ASAPP is a non-profit organization that provides free weekly community-based hypertension screening and education at six locations of religious worship in Kampala.
Projects: High blood pressure and premature death and disability. Tuberculosis meningitis diagnosis and therapy.
