Dr. Openshaw is currently working as an instructor of medicine and infectious diseases at Stanford University.  His fellowship was  focused on the ecology of infectious diseases and in understanding the factors underlying the evolution and emergence of zoonotic diseases. He is interested in the intersection between infectious disease and ecology and his current research is on detecting emerging zoonotic pathogens,
