Principal Investigator: Angelle Desiree LaBeaud  5R01AI102918-03, collaboration with Centre for Global Health Research, KEMRI, and the Technical University of Mombasa. Duration: September 2013 to August 2018.

Currently, this site has established collaborations with several institutions in the USA including Stanford University, University of Miami, University of New Mexico, University of California, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention among other institutions. The types of potential research projects that can be supported and relate these areas to important health challenges include malaria, dengue and chikungunya among others. Enhancing research capacity by collaborating with foreign institutions will promote transfer of knowledge and skills that are important in developing and implementing control strategies against diseases in the region. The proposed training program will be blended with other related programs from both local and international training institutions to develop and improve capacity to control diseases common in this area. KEMRI CGHR has a conducive working environment to host this training program as indicated by existing facilities and research monitoring structures.
